Inauguration of the Second Shift Kendriya Vidyalaya Pitampura A report On 20th April 2010 another feather was added to the cap of Kendriya Vidylaya Pitampura when Sh. Kapil Sibal, Hon’ble Minister of HRD, Govt. of India inaugurated the Second Shift comprising of one section each from classes I to VIII. On this occasion the whole school was decorated with beautiful Rangoli and flowers. The other esteemed guests and dignitaries present were Sh. Avinash Dikshit, Commissioner, KVS, Sh. Ram Kailash Gupta, Sh. V. K. Srivastava, Assistant Commisioner, KVS(DR). The students of primary classes in colourful attire of different states welcomed the guests. Sh. Kapil Sibal, Hon’ble Minister of HRD, Govt. of India unveiled the foundation stone. Hon’ble Sh. Kapil Sibal declared the function open by lighting the lamp. Students presented a melodious welcome song in honour of the guests. In his welcome address, Dr. A. K. Sharma, Principal Kendriya Vidyalaya Pitampura highlighted the achievements of the vidyalaya. The students of primary class put forth their problem of burden of bags before Hon’ble Sh Kapil Sibal and also expressed their joy as that has been reduced due to the initiative taken by him through a Kawwali programme “Baste ka Bhojh”. At the very outset Hon’ble Kapil Sibal congratulated Sh. Avinash Chandra, Commisioner, KVS for the “Whole School National Award - 2008” conferred by Education Quality Foundation of India for Excellence in Education to Kendriya Vidyalaya Pitampura. He told Right to Education Act would provide an opportunity to each and every child to acquire quality education and bring about drastic changes in the society. Sh. Avinash Dikshit, Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan presented a momento to Hon’ble Sh. Kapil Sibal. Sh. V.K. Srivastava, Assistant Commissioner, KVS(DR). The programme ended by vote of thanks proposed by Sh S.S. Mann, Vice Principal of the vidyalaya.
